Credit and pricing

How a reseller gets credit per country, moves it to clients and sets prices.

Your credit pools

You have one SMS pool per country. One SMS is one segment in that country.

SMS YANU --(you buy at wholesale)--> your pool for MW
your pool for MW --(Add SMS)--------> client bind A
your pool for MW --(Add SMS)--------> client bind B
client bind B --(Take SMS back)-----> your pool for MW

Your pools and wholesale prices are on the Overview page.

Buy credit

  1. Pay SMS YANU by bank or mobile money transfer. Ask [email protected] for the payment details.
  2. Send the amount, the country and your payment reference to billing.
  3. Staff check the payment and add the SMS to your pool for that country, at your wholesale price. It shows in Credit history.

Move SMS to a client

  1. Open Binds and pick the client's bind.
  2. Choose Add SMS and enter the number of SMS.
  3. Your pool goes down and the bind goes up by the same amount. You cannot move more than your pool holds.
  4. If the gateway refuses the change, your pool is not charged.

Take SMS back

Take SMS back moves unused SMS from a client bind back into your pool, for example when a client leaves.

Client top-ups

When your client asks for a top-up in the portal, it comes to your Top-ups page, not to SMS YANU. Check that the client paid you, then approve. The SMS come out of your pool. If your pool is too small, buy more first.

The client's request is priced with your retail price at the time they submit it.

Set your prices

  • Set a retail price per SMS per country on My prices, in MWK and USD. Your clients see this price.
  • You pay SMS YANU the wholesale price. The difference is your margin.
  • Each client bind covers one country, so its price is that country's retail price.

To be confirmed

Buying pool credit online for resellers is not wired up yet. How resellers record the payments their clients make to them is up to each reseller.
