Your IP address must be on the list
Connections are only accepted from the public IP addresses on your bind's allowlist. A connection from any other address is refused at the firewall. It is dropped before any SMPP reply, so your client sees a timeout or "connection refused", not a bind error. Add your IPs in the SMPP portal.
Before you connect
- Get a bind from your account manager or reseller. See Binds.
- Copy the
system_idfrom the portal and set or reset the password there. - Add every public IP address your client connects from.
- Make sure the bind has credit. A new bind starts at 0 SMS. See Credits and balance.
Quick test
- Bind as TRX.
- Send a
submit_smto a test number withregistered_delivery = 1. - Keep the connection open and wait for the
deliver_smdelivery receipt. - Check Live status and Reports in the portal.
No TLS on SMPP
SMPP runs on plain TCP port 2775. There is no TLS port. If your traffic must be encrypted end to end, ask support about a VPN or private link.
