Credits and balance
SMPP binds use prepaid SMS credits. One credit pays for one segment.
How credits work
- Each bind has a balance in SMS credits.
- One credit pays for one segment. The gateway counts every
submit_smit accepts, and a long message sends onesubmit_smper segment. - A credit is taken when the gateway accepts a
submit_sm. A refusedsubmit_smcosts nothing. - A new bind starts at 0 credits. When the balance reaches zero, new messages are refused until you top up.
Each bind has a price per SMS, shown on the Binds page in MWK and USD. A bind that covers several countries uses the highest of their prices.
Check your balance
- In the SMPP portal, on the Binds page.
- Every change (top-ups, transfers, corrections) is listed under Credit history, with the number of SMS and the time.
Top up
- Pay by bank or mobile money transfer. The Top up page shows how to pay.
- On Top up, pick the bind, enter the amount you paid, the currency (MWK or USD), how you paid (bank, mobile money or other) and the payment reference. You can add a note.
- The page shows how many SMS that amount buys. The price is locked when you submit, even if prices change before approval.
- The smallest top-up is 100 SMS.
- Each payment reference can be used for one request only. If a request is rejected, the reference can be used again.
- Who approves it:
- If you buy directly from SMS YANU, staff check the payment and approve.
- If you buy from a reseller, your reseller approves it and the SMS come from the reseller's pool.
- When approved, the credits are on the bind and you get an email (once mail sending is set up).
See Payments for how to pay.
Request states
| State | Meaning |
|---|---|
| Pending | Waiting for staff or your reseller. |
| Approved | The credits are on your bind. |
| Rejected | Not approved. The note says why. |
| Being checked | The gateway did not confirm the credit in time. Staff check it by hand. Do not send a new request for the same payment. |
Low balance
Keep enough credit for at least a few days of traffic. A bind with no credit refuses every message.
To be confirmed
Low-balance alerts by email or SMS are not built yet. The smallest top-up (100 SMS) is a server setting and may be changed by Deltacomm.
